Hobby:Shopping Okiguchi started gymnastics at the age of eight. He liked football, too, but came to focus on gymnastics because of the exceptional spring in his legs. He has an especially high reputation on the floor and vault and was the first Japanese gymnast to perform the Lopes (Kasamatsu double twist) on the vault when he was 18 years old. He also represented Japan at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2009 London World Championships. He was sidelined from national team action last year by injury but has made a fine comeback this year.
