More about RASKINA Yulia:
Having broken into the International RG scene at the World Championships in Berlin, 1997, Yulia Raskina won convincingly the position of THE Princess in Rhythmic Gymnastics. Her Olympic, World and European silver medal collection could hardly be beaten. Up to the year 2000, her few golden achievements came in the Apparatus Finals (ex. shared gold on ball at the Europeans in Saragossa 2000), at home, (three time national champion), or at some international competitions (ex.Los Angeles Lights International in January’00)

Born in the capital of Belarus, Minsk, a single child in a sporting family, she took up gymnastics at the age of four. Her mother Natalia, has represented the former USSR as a Rhythmic gymnast and now works as a coach; her father is also a coach- in athletics (high jump).

Her friendship with the Russian star Alina Kabaeva is quite unique in view of the fact that, Yulia has stepped back for the silver many times in favour of Kabaeva. Nevertheless, the two of them get on very well together, often conversing on the phone or paying visits to each other/va/Nov/00.
