Annia Hatch crowned a superb comeback on the international scene with an Olympic silver medal on Vault and with the US team.

Hatch is a dual citizen of the United States and Cuba. She is a seven-time national champion in Cuba. In addition to this, she won the first-ever World Championships medal for Cuba in 1996 with a bronze medal on the vault. Hatch moved to the U.S. in 1997, and became an American citizen in December 2001. In February 2003, Hatch received her international release allowing her to compete for the U.S. She made her American debut at the 2003 Visa American cup capturing the Vault and Floor Exercise titles. Named to the 2003 World Championships Team, but sustained a knee injury during training and was not able to compete. Along with her husband Alan, she is the co-owner of the Stars Academy gym in West Haven, Conn. Hatch says that her mother is her role model because she has always worked hard for her cause.
