More about CID Almudena:
Wherever she competes, Almudena Cid Tostado meets applaud, love and appreciation! She is one of the most respected rhythmic gymnast worldwide and the best example of longevity in this sport, so far.

The World Championships in Patras, Greece will be the ninth in a row in her impressive career, where she will attempt to win a record, fourth Olympic visa for Beijing 2008 (following Atlanta 1995, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004).

He femininity and style were unanimously recognised at the 2003World Championships in Budapest when she was awarded the Longines Prix of Elegance.

All her Ball exercises (and especially her last, of the season 2007), will be long remembered as one of the most artistic and expressive pieces in Rhythmic Gymnastics.

Throughout her career Almudena she has trained under Irarxe Aurrekoetxea (with whom she started RG in Barcelona in 1990), as well as under Aurora Fernandez, the Bulgarian specialist Emilia Boneva who led the Spanish Group Exercise to their Olympic Gold in Atlanta, with former European medallist Anna Bautista and European Champion Dalia Kutkaite and also with Nina Vetrichenko from Ukraine, the mother of the renowned RG star in the 90s, Elena Vitrichenko and with the actual National Coach for Spain Anna Baranova, originally form Belarus.

After the Athens' Olympics Almudena re-joined her first coach, Iratxe, who, over the years has remained one of the most significant figures in her life, both as a coach and as a friend. /va, Sept.07
