Update 9/10/06:
Best Results: Gold (2006), Silver (2004) and Bronze (2002) medals in European Championships; Twice Bronze medallist at World Championships (2003 and 2005); Six-time British Women?s all-around Champion (2001-2006).
She has had enough ?disaster? competitions (European Championships 2005, Commonwealth Games 2006), hopefully Aaarhus brings her sublime achievement!
The undoubted star of the whole British Gymnastics squad is Beth Tweddle. Arguably the most successful British gymnast of all time, she will be determined to prove that she can compete and win against the worlds best.

2001-2005- British Senior AA Champion
Beth was the sensation in the Qualification round of the 2005 European Championships in Debrecen (HUN) and on her way to absolute international glory having placed 1st on A. Bars and Floor and 2nd in the AA. Then a disaster stroke - she fell off the A. Bars during the warm-up of Competition 2 and spend a day in the hospital with a neck collar.

Only 20 days after this ordeal, Beth was again on the competition floor leading the GB team to victory against China, in Liverpool where she won 5 Gold medals (Team, AA, A. Bars, Vault and Floor =).

Beth Tweddle has set a number of ?first time ever? achievements for British Gymnastics. She was the first British woman to win medals at World level (Bronze in Anaheim 2003), 2005 World Students Champion and at European level (Silver in 2004 and Bronze in 2002) - all of them, on her best apparatus, the Asymmetric Bars.

Her results at the International stage over the last two years are all the more impressive ? whenever and wherever she competes, she is a recognised potential threat not only on the Bars, but also in the All-around, on Beam and on Floor.

------------------
Judging by her achievements, she is the best British female gymnast ever: the first to win World and European medals (2003 World Bronze medal, 2004 European Silver and 2002 European Bronze medal), all on her ?crown? discipline, the Asymmetric Bars. She is also the 2002 Commonwealth Games Champion on A. Bars and Silver Medallist in the All-around, five times British Senior Champion (2001-2005), 2005 World Student Champion on A. Bars and Bronze medallist in the overall. Less than a month before the 2005 World Championships in Melbourne, she won Gold medals on A. Bars and Floor and Bronze on Beam at the Glasgow Grand Prix and World Cup event.

She is a student at John Moores University in Liverpool (Sports Science).

Hobbies: Shopping, but does not have much time for it. Family: Mum, Dad, Brother James (3 years older).
