Kate began her reign at the 2000 Olympics helping Canada to an excellent ninth place finish in the team event and then finishing 15th in the All-around, the best ever result by a Canadian woman in that event. She made more history for her country, winning the Gold medal on Beam at the prestigious America Cup, the first ever victory by a Canadian at that event.

In the spring of 2001 she earned a first career Canadian all around title and re-enforced her national dominance with victories on Vault, Beam and Floor.

At the beginning of 2002 she had a back surgery (January), but recovered quickly enough to become the star of the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in July- Champion in the All-around and on Beam and Bronze medal in the Team event in addition.

Family background: Kate's mother is English and her father is from Zimbabwe.
Kate's coach, David Kenwright, is originally from Manchester.
Hobbies: Downhill, skiing, piano, biker riding and reading.
Memorable achievement: Junior Pan American Games in Guatemala
