More about CHECHI Yuri:
Yuri won several medals made of different metals. He is maybe on of the best specialist of the rings in the history. His nickname is "The Lord of the Rings".

After his victory at the Atlanta Olympic Games, Yuri decided to compete for the last time at an international level at the Mediterranean Games in 1997 in Sicilia / Italy. But a couple of days before the 1997 World Championships 1997 in Lausanne SUI, the Italian Federation put the name of Chechi on the registration list. On Saturday September 6, Yuri won the world title on rings!

He made another great come back for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, 6 years after retirement ! He practiced for the whole year of 2004 and took a magninficient bronze medal in Athens !

He won 4 world titles on Rings and 1 Olympic title in 1996. He also competed at the 1992 Olympic Games.

The renewing of his engagement in gymnastics and also in the gymnastics political sphere (he is Vice -President of the Italian Gymnastic Federation) leaves Yuri with not a lot of spare time. What spare time he has is dedicated to his son Dimitri and his partner Rosella. Yuri listens to all types of music. Just by chance of course his favourite film is "The Lord of the Rings".

He is also the Vice President of the Italian Federation.
